Reiki pronounced (“ray – key”) comes from
the Japanese “Rei” meaning Universal and “ Ki” life energy that is a
form of natural healing, discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s.
Reiki empowers, heals and has the ability to bring balance and
harmony back into everyday lives.
Reiki works on many levels: -Physical – Mental- Emotional -
Spiritual.
The purpose of Reiki is to supply the body with additional energy,
which it can use for healing itself. After a treatment people often feel refreshed,
energised, relaxed and more at peace with themselves. It also allows
the detoxification process to begin.
Reiki will
not interfere with other treatments and can complement conventional
and natural therapies.
Reiki practitioners do not diagnose, prescribe or give medical advice.
Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatments or drugs, but can
enhance their effectiveness. Reiki is also suitable for combination
with other complementary therapies.
Reiki Treatment
This is a very simple process. The receiver lies on a couch or sits
on a chair and relaxes. It is not necessary to remove any clothing although
loose clothing and the removal of jewellery is recommended for your
comfort.
The therapist gently lays their hands on the body in a sequence of
positions directing the energy into the body of the receiver. Reiki
instantly flows into the receiver with each treatment.
The Reiki therapist is used as a channel to conduct the Universal
Life Energy. No energy is lost or drained from the therapist, who is
instantly strengthened and charged.
A treatment can last from 20 minutes to around one hour, depending
on the needs of the client. The hand positions are held
in place for several minutes.

Attunements
You receive attunements which are done in order, each building on
the previous stage, for those who wish to practice Reiki for themselves.
The attunements are transmissions of energy that are received depending on which
Reiki degree you are training in.
There are three levels (degrees) of study in traditional Reiki.
- The first degree is for self healing and healing others.
- The second degree Reiki symbols are learned as well as a
technique of distant healing. This degree works more on the
chakra system.
Mental and emotional problems can be addressed more on this
level.
Second degree works on the development of intuition.
Those who have trained to this level can practice
professionally.
- The third (Master) is for those who wish to follow the path
of Reiki Master/Teacher and wish to teach.
Time for You practitioners are:
Jacky Wales (level 3) - offering Reiki treatments and attunements.
Rachel Webb (level 2) - combining with other therapies.
